MENDOORAN CARP MUSTER 2025

Get ready to wrangle some carp — it’s going to get a whole lot fishy for a really good cause! The Mendooran Carp Muster returns this October, bringing together families, anglers, and conservation champions for a day of fun on the Castlereagh River.

This much-loved community event aims to reduce the population of invasive carp while celebrating river health, outdoor recreation, and the Mendooran spirit. Whether you’re a keen fisher or just love being part of the action, there’s something for everyone.

Event Highlights & Schedule

8:30am – 9:00am | Registration Check-in
All participants must check in at Mendooran Free Camp to collect tags and event details.

9:00am – 4:00pm | Competition Kick-Off
The main event begins! Cast your line, enjoy the day, and try your luck at reeling in the big one.

9:00am – 9:30am | Castlereagh Dash for Cash
Join the excitement with Three Rivers Landcare and be part of the first cash prize of the day!

9:00am – 10:30am | Kids Fishing Clinic
Hosted by OzFish River Repair Bus, this hands-on workshop teaches kids aged 10 and under how to fish responsibly and safely — parents encouraged to participate.

2:30pm – 3:30pm | Casting Competitions
Head to the Royal Hotel Mendooran for some friendly skill-based challenges — open to everyone, even non-competitors.

3:30pm – 4:00pm | Weigh-In
Return to Mendooran Free Camp to log your catches and see how you measure up!

5:00pm – 6:00pm | Presentation & Dinner
Wrap up the day with a meal, speeches, and prize presentations at the Royal Mendooran Hotel.

Participation is open to all ages. Meals available for purchase at the Royal Hotel.
