IMPERIAL HOTEL COONABARABRAN Coonabarabran’s favourite meeting place, the Imperial Hotel is a family operated, country style hotel. It is located in the centre of Coonabarabran and is within walking distance to shops, restaurants and activities. The Imperial Hotel features clean comfortable rooms and offers single, double and twin rooms with shared bathrooms as well as backpacker style accommodation and family sized rooms with en suites. All rooms have air-conditioning and televisions. Sky television and Austar is also available. There is also a guest kitchen and lounge that overnight guests to the hotel are welcome to use. The Imperial Hotel also offers a restaurant called Gecko Red. They serve good value counter meals and have a family dining room as well as a children’s playroom. They can cater for different functions so just contact them to make arrangements. A continental breakfast is available Monday to Saturday, served in the dining room. WARRUMBUNGLE NATIONAL PARK - CAMPING Powered and unpowered sites are available in the Warrumbungle National Park which features spectacular remnant volcanic landforms, an abundance of quiet native animals and graded walks with easy access. At Camp Blackman facilities include untreated rainwater, hot showers, laundry basins, toilets and gas BBQs. Camp Wambelong offers camping, toilets and untreated rainwater. There are no numbered sites therefore no bookings can be taken. Group facilities are also available separately. Warrumbungle National Park Visitor Centre is open daily for great advice on walks and activities. The Centre includes a shop that supplies water, milk, bread, ice, confectionery and refershments. Picnic and barbecue (electric) facilities are available at Canyon Picnic Area. No pets allowed. Park Fees apply. Visitors need to take their own firewood for campfires (available 5 km from Coonabarabran on the road to the park) and follow any fire restrictions. JOHN OXLEY CARAVAN PARK Stay in a caravan park with good old fashioned country hospitality at reasonable rates, all within easy walking distance to town. Enjoy spacious refurbished amenities, powered and non-powered camping sites and good value en suite cabins. Drive through sites under big shady trees. A kiosk operates on premises. John Oxley Caravan Park is located only 500 metres from tennis and squash courts and one kilometre from the Post Office. The park offers 72 powered sites, 50 tent sites and several park cabins. GETAWAY TOURIST PARK
Getaway Tourist Park is the only caravan park in Coonabarabran with a swimming pool. Set at the southern end of Coonabarabran on the Newell Highway it offers the facilities of children's playground, kiosk, pool, gas barbecues and gas refills. Set in a bushland setting with ample facilities for large groups. Accommodation includes cabins, on-site vans, powered sites and tent sites. TIBUC CABINS Tibuc Cabins are located about 16 kilometres west of Coonabarabran, along the road leading to the Warrumbungle National Park. Tibuc offers three unique self-contained cabins which are surrounded by natural bushland. There is no television or telephone in the cabins. Tibuc Cabins is also a non-smoking property. There are beautiful farm walks and scenery, with plenty of wildlife. Siding Spring Observatory, Warrumbungle National Park and Warrumbungle Observatory are close by. Children just love it! Family groups are encouraged to visit. The fully-equipped cottage accommodates up to eight people and has sunny verandas and wood fires. Dalyup is ideal for city kids, getting to know their country cousins, or a great place for couples to relax and enjoy the surrounds. Dalyup is pet friendly; just ask. The Country Gardens Motel is handy to the shopping centre and Visitor Information Centre and is located close to bowling club and easy access to the Warrumbungle National Park. The motel has 37 units including two bedroom suites and non-smoking rooms. The Gunyah licensed restaurant offers a set price menu as well as an a-la-carte menu and seats 50 people. Facilities include a saltwater swimming pool, in-house movies, central heating, air-conditioning and laundry facilities. Breakfasts are served to rooms. COACHMANS REST MOTOR LODGE A country style motel set in picturesque gardens with a generous size swimming pool that caters for the whole family. The Coachman's is part of the Golden Chain motel group and is located 1.6 kilometres from the centre of town on the Newell Highway at the southern end of town.
